Choosing lingerie for Valentine’s Day

Words: Wicked Tickles

One for the gentlemen…

Buying lingerie for your Valentine can be the perfect gift. It will not only make your wife or girlfriend feel sexy and attractive, it’s also a fabulous gift for yourself! Choosing what to buy can be a little intimidating for some, particularly as there are hundreds of styles and colours to choose from.

Here’s our guide to choosing Valentine’s lingerie.

    • Check her size by looking at her favourite underwear, which she regularly wears. Don’t check the lingerie which she rarely wears as this may not fit well.
    • Think about her best features, so that the lingerie you choose will highlight these. Babydolls and basques are perfect for showing off her legs and bust. If she has small breasts and is self-conscious about this, choose lingerie that shows off her bottom or legs to distract from her breast size. A sexy pair of stockings and garter will highlight her legs, for example. For larger ladies, styles in plus size lingerie with under wired bras or halter tops can help lift and enhance cleavage. If your lady is self-conscious about her stomach, you could choose a babydoll, which will still show plenty of leg. A sexy robe will complement a bra and panties set and make her look and feel gorgeous.
    • Valentine’s lingerie colours are usually black, white, pink and – of course – red! Choose a colour that will flatter her skin tone. Fabrics such as lace, silk and satin will make a woman feel sexy and very feminine.
    • It also important to consider your wife or girlfriend’s personality – rather than simply buying styles you like! If she is adventurous, you could go for a revealing lingerie set or perhaps a more risqué material such as vinyl. For those ladies who are a more reserved, an elegant lace lingerie set or silk nightdress may be more suitable. It’s important that she is comfortable with wearing something sexy for you which in turn will make her feel sensual, desirable and, most importantly, special.
